clown.
It's back to the days when knights were bold,
as Shirley becomes a queen for a day -- but
she soon discovers that medieval merrymaking
isn't that much fun!
Shirley goes dancing and picks up a nasty
case of blackmail at the docks of Hong Kong.
And auto rally has more than thrills and
spills when Shirley navigates for Dennis!
A Hong Kong fisherman gets the money to fix
his fishing boat, while Shirley lands a scoop,
loses her camera and wins some champagne.
Shirley starts out in a Kabuki theatre, winds
up as an entertainer in a run-down Geisha
house and saves a touring British honeymooner
from going completely 'native'.
Shirley takes it upon herself to reorganize the
business and personal affairs of a rather
reluctant tycoon.
Getting tow for one, Shirley manages to help
both a fading pop star and a London cabbie.
Shirley is suspected of being a thief
after a visit to a jewelery show...
Shirley starts out to shoot pictures of a
Japanese temple but ends up down on the farm.
On the way, she saves a cab driver from
herself and sets his wife on the way to an
engineering degree.
Genius may be under your feet as you step on
the faded remains of a street artist's pictures.
Masterpieces? Perhaps. But Shirley's efforts
to sponsor a pavement painter prove that
patronage of the arts has its problems.
A struggle to save the countryside from the
invasion of a new oil refinery sees Shirley
involved in the battle for human rights.
It's yo-ho-ho and a bottle of rum -- except
that in this case the rum is illicit whiskey -
when Shirley gets into the buccaneering
spirit on a Scottish island.
Shirley unravels an 'arranged' marriage for
a couple who don't love each other. But
the best laid plans are apt to go awry!
Shirley has an encounter with a romantic
Russian -- but dare she help a defector?
There's a surprise in store for her, though!
Shirley uses her own devious methods to patch
up a famous film star's broken marriage.
Description
Shirley's World is a British television sitcom initially aired on ABC during the U.S. 1971-72 television season, then by ITV in the United Kingdom. Co-produced by the British ITC Entertainment and American producer Sheldon Leonard, the short-lived series stars Shirley MacLaine as photojournalist Shirley Logan and John Gregson as her editor Dennis Croft.
