Velvet's sister Edwina sneaks out late at night to say good-by to her boyfriend who is leaving or the Army. Velvet in turn sneaks out to warn her sister that mom is out looking for her. Edwina manages to return unnoticed, but Velvet gets caught when she comes back from her escapade.
Wealthy Marilyn Winters invites Velvet to train King at her exclusive club for an upcoming horse show. At the last minute, Marilyn says Velvet can't be in the show and insists on riding King herself.
