Michael decides that the transatlantic to-ing and fro-ing has gone on long enough and that he and Edie need to truly commit to each other to make this work.
Michael flies out to New York with Katherine expecting to be introduced to Edie's friends. Though he's the antithesis of their values, Michael is confident he can impress them.
Edie arrives in London, expecting to have dinner with Katherine and Michael, but things don't quite go as planned.
In New York, Edie is struggling to find the right moment to break the news of her relationship with Michael to her close-knit group of friends.
Edie uses an old friend's party in London as an excuse to see Michael again. But he's abandoned hope of seeing her again, and she reaches him the morning after a loveless one-night stand.
Michael once again sets off for New York, although his thoughts are preoccupied by the news of Kristin's pregnancy and the fact that he's had to leave his young nephew Angelo.
