He Wei Fang and Jiang Chang Yang plan to travel south to do business. They reluctantly bid farewell to everyone from Fang Garden.

Li You Zhen releases He Wei Fang. He Wei Fang escapes to Huanyun Pavilion. She puts up the secret signal previously agreed upon with Jiang Chang Yang.
Jiang Chang Yang is killed by King Ning. He Wei Fang is knocked out by Liu Chang and brought back to his residence. When she wakes up, she finds out she is tied to a bed in handcuffs and shackles.
Upon learning of Jiang Chang Yang's plan, He Wei Fang suggests hosting the banquet at Fang Garden to facilitate their scheme. During the banquet, Zhang Qian leads the newly appointed young officials in reciting a poem condemning corrupt officials, a pointed critique aimed squarely at King Ning.

He Wei Fang, Xiao Chun, and Da Fu are making a delivery for their customer and encounter bandits along the way. After receiving news from Liu Lang, Jiang Chang Yang rushes to save them.
He Wei Fang finds out that there might be more to her mother's death than meets the eye. Thus, she investigates the background of Mr. Wu.
Jiang Chang Yang informs Vice Minister Lu to search the merchant ship escorted by Liu Chang. The search uncovers a large number of Buddha statues forged from copper and iron. When questioned by the Emperor, King Ning, trying to cover up his secret weapon production, claims that Liu Chang will be stripped of his rank.
Pei Zhong blames Jiang Chang Yang for ruining his plans with Xue Xi, so he kidnaps He Wei Fang to get back at him. As soon as Jiang Chang Yang finds out, he immediately gathers his men to confront Pei Zhong.
Foreign envoys and officials gather at the Imperial Garden to admire the blooming snow peonies. Everyone has high praise for the view. The emperor is delighted. He grants He Wei Fang a plaque with the writing "Peerless Youthful Beauty" on it.
King Ning orders Liu Chang to conduct a surprise raid on Jiang Chang Yang's residence, where they uncover a hidden chamber.
The pirate points out in court that he was instructed by Princess Li You Zhen. Li You Zhen worries that it will affect King Ning if things get out of hand. Thus, she admits that she's the culprit behind the fire.
Jiang Chang Yang spends Xue Xi's birthday with her. Fueled by a bit of Dutch courage, Xue Xi confesses her feelings for Jiang Chang Yang.
The Fang Garden catches on fire. Mu Dan rushes in with no regard for her own safety to save the people inside. When Jiang Chang Yang finds out, he runs into the fire to look for He Wei Fang. But he passes out from inhaling too much smoke.
Liu Chang orders his men to search Wanguan Hall when Jiang Chang Yang is being imprisoned. He Wei Fang asks Da Fu to inform Miss Yun while she attempts to slow Liu Chang down.
Xiao Xue Xi, the daughter of General Xiao, the Governor of Hexi, arrives in the capital. King Ning plans to arrange a marriage between her and Pei Zhong, a descendant of a noble family. Though Pei Zhong is deeply taken with Xue Xi, he fears she has feelings for her childhood friend, Jiang Chang Yang. This leads him to come up with a devious plan.
He Wei Fang senses that Zhao Cai and Lian Zhou are plotting something. Thus, she tails Lian Zhou. She finds out why she approached Jiang Chang Yang.
Liu Chang meets with He Wei Fang, which makes the Princess seethe with jealousy. She arranges for someone to slander He Wei Fang, accusing her that the Tresses Pill in her shop has killed Madam Wu.
