The holidays are getting closer and when Mads gets back from rehab, he and Eva both try to own up to their mistakes; Eva makes one final effort to mend her relationship with Jacob; Mads still struggles to find peace and therefore seeks Eva's support.
Mads is in rehabilitation, but he stays suspicious of the place, the others and his own issue; Mikael and Eva are at odds on whether Eva should remain in the company; Eva and Mads reflect on their own views of the past.
Eva meets with Jacob with the intention of making amends; Mads faces a serious accusation at work, which causes him to spiral.
Eva's company runs into financial troubles, but the issue turns out to be bigger than initially anticipated when a major breach of trust is uncovered; Kristina celebrates her birthday and Mads wants to give her a special gift.
Mikael and his young girlfriend, Sille, join Eva and Jacob for dinner. A few awkward topics of conversation arise during the meal and a strange vibe spreads when Mads makes a surprise appearance.
Eva takes on the responsibility of planning Thorid's 70th birthday party at the family's summerhouse to ensure Thorid remains calm and happy. However, it gets challenging when Mads refuses to join.
The news of Mark's death casts a shadow over the contract for the Black Keys headquarters; Eva makes every effort to secure the company's future; Mads gets the chance to play at Rust, but Kristina is unsure if she can trust him.
