Dolly is joined by Loretta Lynn, comedian-musician Mike Schneider, and comedian Jackie Mason.

Dolly films a special episode of her weekly series in New Orleans, celebrating the songs and people of the city. She performs aboard s steamboat with Pete Fountain, at a street fair with the Neville Brothers and the Dixie Cups, at a Bourbon Street nightclub with Irma Thomas, Alan Toussant and Dr. John, and at a Cajun hoedown with Doug Kirshaw.

Dolly introduces the ""Hoedown-Showdown"" segment, which will set the tone for the show, from this point forward. She also (with Miss Piggy's help), pokes fun of some of the segments with which she was never comfortable, with Miss Piggy lampooning the ""bubble bath"" segment, and offering an over-the-top performance of ""Someone to Watch Over Me"" (which Dolly herself performed in an earlier episode.

Vanity Fair - Jackee visits Dolly @ the Beauty Salon, getting ready to be her show. She & Dolly do a rendition of ""Here You Come Again"".
