Zuleika tells Paula that Mariana is going on a trip with Renato. Joyce and Helena argue because of Dalva. Joyce hints that she's thinking about living alone, and Helena thinks she's being kicked out.
The priest asks Caio to stay by Joyce's side. Paula tells Zuleika that she will no longer travel and that she plans to use her son to get Carlos back.
Zuleika demands a decision from Paula regarding the pregnancy. Sheila arrives at the church and watches from afar. Caio also goes to the church and arrives just as his daughter is about to be baptized.
Sheila injures Paula in the arm. Olga asks Rafaela to let Bruno baptize Alice. On the day of the baptism, Joyce apologizes to Helena for everything she has done wrong.

Carlos orders Yara to get Helena's passport. Rafaela is outraged to learn that Bruno is going to baptize Alice and blames Olga. Olga faints.
Sheila can't find Paula's file at Daniel's office. Daniel sees Helena and Carlos happy, making plans for the future, and becomes worried, thinking about Paula's pregnancy.
Daniel remembers when Paula said she didn't want children and keeps her file in his archive. Sheila enters Daniel's office and begins to rummage through his files.
Sheila is intrigued to learn that Paula had a consultation with Daniel. Joyce says that Bruno will be Alice's godfather, and Caio gets furious. Daniel confirms that Paula is pregnant.
Caio finds out about Alice's christening and is furious because he wasn't informed. Paula makes an appointment with Daniel, and Carlos becomes suspicious.
Joyce takes Alice off Caio's lap. Sheila tells Carlos that she has decided to take a few days off from the clinic. Zuleika hints to Rômulo that Paula is pregnant.
Helena is strolling through the mall with her granddaughter. Joyce invites Bruno to baptize Alice. Helena sees Caio at the mall and calls him over to see Alice. Joyce sees Caio holding Alice.
Joyce greets Bruno, and, feeling threatened, Marininha pulls the boy away. Marininha kisses Bruno, and Joyce is embarrassed. Bruno is about to leave in his car when Joyce appears in the back seat.
Joyce hides from Caio. Helena advises Joyce to go to Marininha's party. The doorbell rings and Caio goes to open the door and, to his surprise, finds Joyce.
Leonardo kicks Mariana out of the house, and she reveals to everyone that her husband is sterile. Joyce goes shopping with Alice; Caio finds out and rushes to see his daughter.
Sheila confesses all her schemes to Helena and asks for forgiveness for everything she did to her. Paula sees Mariana with Renato at the club and doesn't like it. Paula tells her family everything about Mariana.
Sheila burns Carlos's clothes that were still in her house. Helena remembers the day she went to Sheila's house and found the photos of her with Carlos, and she becomes suspicious.
Joyce is terrified by Sheila's presence. Carlos says he no longer wants Sheila working at the clinic. Sheila sets fire to all the objects that reminded her of Carlos.
Yara breaks up a fight between Paula and Sheila. Joyce is asleep and, as if drawn by a very strong gaze, opens her eyes and screams when she sees Sheila leaning over Alice's crib.
Renato takes Maristela and Mariana out to dinner. Paula tells Yara that she and Carlos have broken up, and Sheila overhears the phone call. Sheila shows up at Paula's house laughing at her.
Caio tells Joyce that he will not give up his right to see Alice. Zuleika tells Carlos that she intends to work with Silvana. Paula shows up unexpectedly at Carlos's house.
Zuleika informs Mariana that Neusa will be the housekeeper. Assunção receives a sports award. Joyce takes Alice for a walk on the beach; Caio drives by and sees them.
Zulmira, Neusa's cousin, tells Zuleika all the evil things Mariana did during her absence. Silvana goes to Joyce's house and asks her not to forbid Caio from seeing his daughter anymore.
Carlos tells Helena that he knew they would be together again. Lu tells Joyce that she has to leave. Zuleika orders Mendonça to take her to Rocinha to see Neusa.

Caio is aggressive towards Joyce and doesn't even pay attention to his daughter. Caio and Joyce argue, and he says he will never marry her. Carlos gathers the editor and some friends at home, and Paula arrives drunk.

Rafaela argues with Joyce. Silvana arrives, and Rafaela and Mauro decide to leave. Mariana teases Neusa again.
Assunção cries in the hospital, suffering because everyone looks at him with pity. Soninha is hired at the store where Marta works. Rafaela and Mauro go to the agency and run into Joyce and Caio.

Assunção is taken unconscious to the hospital and goes into surgery. An employee from the television station where Assunção works goes to Valkíria's house to inform her about the accident.
Assunção puts the apartment where she and Helena live in Joyce's name. Helena argues with Assunção, he drives off at high speed and has an accident.
Sheila orders champagne and goes to Daniel's table to join in the toast to his relationship with Bianca. Paula goes to Sheila's table to congratulate her on her demeanor towards Daniel and Bianca.
Paula convinces Carlos to go out to dinner with Daniel, Bianca, and the whole family. Sheila goes out with Tânia, and the two of them go to the same restaurant where Carlos's family is.
Xavier gets a new job at the mall, thanks to his heroic act during the robbery. Helena visits Sheila to comfort her. Daniel goes to Bianca's house to formalize their relationship.

Sheila swears revenge for Paula and Helena. Olga asks Carlos about Helena, and he says he loves her. Caio gets jealous of Bruno.
Helena receives flowers from Carlos, calls to thank him, and he asks her out. Zuleika suspiciously listens to Carlos's phone conversation. Carlos and Helena have dinner together.
Valkyrie stays home with Luizinho while Assunção and Joyce are away on a business trip. Helena and Carlos are in love. Sheila calls Helena and discovers she's not home.
Zuleika tells Olga that she is afraid that Paula will turn out like Vandinha. Carlos invites Helena and Joyce to watch Bruno's show.
Joyce tells Lu that she didn't want to, but she still likes Caio. Marta tells Helena that she can't stand Xavier anymore. Carlos tells Paula that he wants to formalize their separation.
Carlos is surprised by Paula's presence. Sheila teases Helena. Carlos becomes engrossed in Paula's family and is unable to pay attention to Helena, who discreetly leaves.
Sheila brings flowers to Joyce. Sheila tries to find out as much as possible about Helena. Joyce tells her how Helena and Carlos met. Paula arrives at the book signing.

Joyce sees Helena and Carlos leaving together and becomes suspicious. Sheila calls Teresópolis, learns that Carlos will only be released the following day, and decides to go there.

Vandinha surprises Caio. Bruno approaches Joyce at the club to chat. Carlos goes to the bookstore to organize his book signing and runs into Helena.

Assunção demands explanations from Helena and Joyce, and they lie, saying the baby belongs to a friend of Joyce's. Carlos continues to be cold towards Paula at home.
Carlos goes to Sheila's house and asks her to stay at the clinic. Sheila accepts Carlos's request. Assunção surprises Joyce and Helena in a baby clothing store.

Joyce looks for Caio after seeing a photo of him with Vandinha in a magazine. Chica tells Paula that Zuleika and Rômulo had a fight. Joyce provokes Helena, and she slaps her daughter in the face.
Marta tells Helena that she's making her interest in Carlos clear. Joyce complains to Carlos about her mother, but he ignores her. Joyce says that Carlos and Helena like each other, but he denies it.
Carlos arrives home and finds Paula asleep in the Indian cook's lap. Helena finds Joyce's CD, reads Caio's note, becomes distraught, and has a terrible argument with her daughter.
Caio tells Joyce that he likes her very much and they end up kissing. Paula is desperate because Carlos hasn't come home and he doesn't have his cell phone.
Carlos explains Luizinho's condition to Assunção and Valkíria. Sheila tells Yara that she's leaving the clinic. Luizinho's surgery is a success.
Luizinho is run over. Helena and Valkíria are notified of Luizinho's accident and go to the hospital. Carlos goes to Helena's house and gets the hospital's address from Ritinha.
Joyce remembers when she met Caio and goes to the clinic to confide in Carlos. Paula questions Carlos about Helena. Paula and Sheila meet at a restaurant and confront each other.
Caio asks Joyce if she told Assunção about the baby and insists she have an abortion. Carlos saves Luizinho from being run over.
Paula finds a photo album of Carlos with Sheila and gets upset. Marta suggests that Xavier sell hot dogs. Joyce tells Soninha that she really wants to have the baby.
Carlos and Paula arrive at his house in Araras, and he tells the employees that Paula is now the owner of the house. Luizinho is almost run over on the bike path, but Assunção saves him.
Paula and Carlos reconcile. Daniel confesses his feelings to Sheila. Caio is bothered by Vandinha's indifference. Zuleika wants to sell the house. Helena can't stop thinking about Carlos.
Joyce borrows money for Helena to pay for the car repairs. Joyce dreams that Caio tries to rape her and that she kills him. Carlos goes to his apartment alone and finds Paula in bed.
Paula barges into Carlos's office, causing a scene in front of Helena and Joyce. Joyce asks Assunção to lend Helena money, but he refuses.
Joyce introduces Helena to Carlos. Carlos drops Helena off at home, and she invites him for coffee. Paula looks for Carlos at Sheila's house and sees photos of her husband with his former lover.
Helena tells Assunção how Joyce got hurt, omitting the pregnancy. Carlos takes Paula to the hospital. Carlos meets Joyce at a beer garden, and Helena sees him from afar.
Carlos and Paula arrive at his house in Teresópolis for a short honeymoon. Sheila tells Olga that she's sure she'll get back together with Carlos. Paula leaves alone on horseback.
Joyce tells Helena about her pregnancy, and Helena decides to support her. Carlos wakes up, grabs Joyce's diary, and goes to her house. Helena's car breaks down, and Assunção helps her push it.
